Democrat Wants 50 Cent A Gallon Gas Tax Increase

In an effort to cut greenhouse gas emissions, Democrat Congressman John Dingell (MI) would like to tack on an additional 50 cent per gallon gas tax.

It may be just me, but even at a record $3.35 a gallon I haven't noticed a huge decrease in the number of vehicles on the road locally. Sure people bitch and complain about the price, but they are still out their driving.

As you drive by the local gas station take a closer look at that bottom number on the tote board, the price of diesel fuel. Last I looked it was an incredible $4.25 per gallon! Now do some math...I'm not positive, but figure the tanks on an 18 wheeler hold what, 100 gallons? That's $425 to fill 'er up. If Congressman Dingbat has his way it would be $475!

Gee, I wonder what the negative impact on our economy would be if everything that needed to be trucked (meaning just about everything) suddenly cost more to cover that ridiculous increase? The consequences would be disastrous for a U.S. economy already teetering on the brink of catastrophe.

Clearly these global warming hype-merchants don't have a clue about the negative consequences of their schemes. Keep in mind that you are already ponying up 18.4 cents per gallon in Federal gas taxes and in Pennsylvania it's 34 cents per gallon for gas and 36 cent per gallon for diesel. If anything, the state and Federal governments should be looking for ways to knock off the gas taxes and give business and individuals a break during this fuel price crunch.

The man who made his name prosecuting Wall Street types, DJ's who took cash and prizes to play bad Britney Spears records and oddly enough prostitution rings, DEMOCRAT, New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, looking like a man who lost his dentures, resigned after being ensnared in a Federal investigation into the Emperor's Club VIP escort service.

Spitzer could face a laundry list of charges if the Feds haven't already struck a deal with the former New York Attorney General.

Be on the lookout for hours of entertaining television interviews centering on the man now and forever known at "Love Client # 9." Stories already abound about tens of thousands of dollars being shelled out on the high end hookers, speculation about jail terms and the inevitable stories about the jilted wife and if she'll stand by her man. I've gotta bet the big money bimbo at the center of the story will be able to write her own ticket for her salacious story...won't her Mom and Dad be proud.

I love the story lines about having to feel sorry for Spitzer and his Family. Sorry, but this guy played the role of law and order prosecutor and then still made the bad choices to get involved with hookers, I don't feel the least bit of sympathy for this putz or his wife who looks on adoringly.

Presidential candidate Barack Obama as made CHANGE his campaign catch phrase, yet he has given one iota about what it is he's planning on changing.

Local Democrat congressional candidate Mike Waltner is holding a "Walk for Change" rally today, yet we have yet to hear exactly what he plans on changing.

Could all this talk of CHANGE from the Democrats running for office mean that the Liberals are planning to change and become smart? That would entail the CHANGE of becoming conservative!
